The introduction of electric vehicles
editorial
With the new lithium-ion batteries, storing substantial amounts of electricity is beginning to become a reality, and this has meant the reinvention of electric mobility. One thing to note is that for the first time, a convergence has occurred between companies in the automotive and energy sectors that could go a long way in the future.

Our country has a sufficiently diversified electrical system; altogether we have great generating potential. Achieving a significant night demand during peak hours, which would produce a flattening of the load curve, represents a great improvement opportunity for the system. This is what can be achieved with electric vehicles (EVs).

The energy requirements for the introduction of a million EVs into our country's vehicle fleet would imply an absolute demand accounting for less than 1% of the electricity generated in

2010. Don't forget that with wind power alone, which we have ceased to produce during night hours due to lack of demand, we could have fuelled a fleet of 125,000 EVs for one year with an average distance of 10,000 km per unit.

Every type of energy generation and use results in external environmental effects. Due to the high efficiency of EVs, the emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases are significantly lower than those of internal combustion vehicles. The emissions that most affect us in terms of air quality in cities will be zero.
CIRCUTOR, a company focused on energy efficiency, VEhas already designed and supplied over a thousand charging points throughout the country, of all types (road, car parks, theme parks, business fleets, homes, etc.). With the laudable exception of charging points for fleets of company cars, the rest remain clearly underutilized, due to a lack of EVs.
There is an urgent need for a range of EVs with prices and services approximating those of conventional vehicles; though we do not doubt that, after a transitional period, with new batteries and equipment, the automotive sector will succeed.

NEWS FROM THE SECTOR
Solar energy beats its own record for penetration in the Spanish market
noticia During the month of April, thermosolar and photovoltaic covered 4.2% of the electricity demand.

Solar energy beat its own record for covering national demand in April, with 4.2% of the total, according to data provided by the Electricity System Operator Red Eléctrica de España (REE). The previous record was from June 2010, at 4%.

REE's analyses still do not give breakdowns of the origin of the solar output between the two technologies. However, photovoltaic

energy, with 3,833 MW installed, provides the bulk, while thermoelectric power, with 800 MW connected and more operating hours, is increasingly important.

As for wind energy, April saw production of 3,265 GWh, an increase of 26.8% over the same period last year and representing 16.9% of total production.

During the month, generation from renewable energy sources reached 39.9% of total production, compared to 40.1% in April 2010. In the first four months of the year, renewable energy production has accounted for 39% of total production, while in the same period last year it was 39.9%.

solarIn addition, 60.7% of electricity generation for the month was produced by technologies that do not emit CO2.

EDS application. Banking sector
equipo

The banking sector is part of a target group of business sectors known as multi-point. They are known as such because they offer services over extensive geographical areas, obligating them to invest heavily in assets. This allows them to obtain significant coverage rates depending on the area or the service rendered.

Given the level of investment involved, they must often develop extensive supplier networks, which enables them to keep their infrastructure in optimum working condition

for the activities they carry out, which are attracting new clients and earning their loyalty.

A series of parameters are needed In order to implement the business of attracting clients and earning their loyalty:

puntBranch office in a location suitable for
puntserving existing clients and for capturing
puntnew ones
puntPleasant environment on the premises
puntthat is conducive to conducting business

The comfort level inside the bank branch is basically determined by two main sources of electrical energy consumption: air conditioning and lighting. While they do not have a direct impact on the client's comfort level, miscellaneous supplies can represent a significant expense for these types of installations.
