On March 13 and 14 the II ESES Congress 2012 (Congress for Energy Services) will be held in Barcelona (Spain).
The Congress serves as a forum for reflection and exposure to energy services, going over business models, types of contracts, investment/funding of services, how to ensure savings, different technologies, applications and systems for achieving

economic and energy savings and the operations for carrying out comprehensive management services.
Also, the Congress will serve as a platform for key players to discuss these points, along with the development of various factors influencing development, and possible future trends, as well as for the presentation of case studies.
This diagram aims to improve the understanding of how ESCOs are operated and to earn the trust of consumption centre owners regarding operation with this model. This will enable the development of a market for energy services.

Electricity consumption among large and medium-sized companies fell 4.5% in January compared to same month of 2011, almost doubling the 2.6% decrease recorded by all applicants, according to Spain's Electrical Network (REE).
The demand from large accumulated consumers in the last twelve months (February 2011-January 2012) fell 2% over the same period in the previous year, a decline which "has been accentuated in the last four months," according to the REE.
In business, the industry sector is credited with the greatest reduction in electricity consumption in the first month of the year, falling 5.3%, while in the service sector it fell 1.8%. |
|
This is indicated by the new REE indicator for major energy consumers, or those consumers with consumption bills of over 450 kilowatts (kW), which represent 40% of the peninsula's electrical energy demand.
The president of REE, Luis Atienza, frames this new index within the "constant effort of the company to facilitate access to information on the electrical system and its operation, in line with the company's transparency policy."
To develop this index, the company has taken the 2009 financial year as the basis for calculation, as it is the first full year to have stable measurements. |
The measurements are taken from 20,583 points which correspond to 12,861 companies. Of these companies, 57% are companies with industrial activity and 35% with service activity, while agricultural, livestock and construction activity account for 4%.
